VISITING RELATIVES
Visiting relatives residing in Japan
(If the relationship between the applicant and the relative in Japan is beyond third degree, please follow the requirements for temporary visitor visa for visiting friend)
NOTICE
- Original Documents
- All documents issued/prepared in the Philippines must be original except those specifically stated ”photocopy" or "copy".
- A photocopy of documents issued/prepared in Japan is acceptable. However, the Embassy of Japan will request the submission of the original document, if it is necessary for inspection.
- The submitted documents cannot be returned. If you want, submit it with its photocopy and request of return.
- Validity of documents
- All documents must be issued within 3 months (only for Birth/Marriage Certificate, 1 year) from the date of application.
- Size of documents, Translation, etc.
- All documents must be in A4 size. Documents of other size must be copied (reduced/enlarged) into A4 and submitted with the original. However, a document of regal size (or almost same as A4 size) is acceptable and no need for photocopy.
- Never staple documents. Issuance receipt of certificate is not necessary and must be removed.
- As of documents issued/prepared in other language than English or Japanese, the translation in English or Japanese is required (the date of translation, translator’s name and signature is necessary).
- Depending on the content of application, additional documents may be required through the Friendship Tours and Resorts Corp.
If you fail to submit within 1 month from the date of request by the embassy, the application will be terminated.
- Please prepare type written application form with a handwritten signature
( not acceptable E-Signature ) - The applications after April 7, 2025, need to provide 2 sets of original authorization letters to Friendship Tours and Resorts Corporation Manila or Cebu Branch where you file the application.

REQUIREMENTS
All documents must be original unless otherwise stated "photocopy"
[Documents from the applicant]
1. Passport
- Broken passport is not accepted.
- Passports must be signed (above 13 years old ) and must have at least two (2) blank visa pages
2. Colored Photocopy of passport ( Identification page )
- If the applicant holds a used Japan visa, please submit a colored photocopy of the Used Japan Visa and Landing permit colored photocopy and original passport with a used visa.
3. Visa Application Form
- Please prepare typed application form ( the form is available at our website )
- Signature must be handwritten signature ( not acceptable E-signature )
- Application form should be filled out all items correctly, If item is not applicable, please fill in [N/A].
- For “Date of application”, fill in the date of submission to the Friendship Tours and Resort Corporation
4. Photo
- Specs: 4.5cm x 3.5cm(2x1.4 inch), with white background.
- Photo must be taken within 6 months.
- Please write applicant’s name and birthdate on the back side of the photo.
- Photo must be pasted on the application form.
- A photo out of the standard or digitally modified is not acceptable.
5. Birth Certificate
- IT must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office/Serbilis Outlet Center (Nationwide).
- If the birth certificate from Philippine Statistics Office (PSA) is unreadable, or has incomplete information, please submit the birth certificate issued by PSA together with a birth certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar.
- If the birth certificate is “late registration”, please submit in addition, a baptismal certificate and school record (Form 137) from high school or elementary and School Yearbook (if possible).Please add the contact information (landline number) of the church, if possible.
- If there is no record in PSA, please submit a “Certificate of Non-Record” from PSA together with a birth certificate from the Local Civil Registrar.
6. Marriage Certificate (if the applicant is married)
- IT must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office/Serbilis Outlet Center (Nationwide).
- If the marriage Certificate from Philippine Statistics Office (PSA) is unreadable, or has incomplete information, please submit the marriage certificate issued by PSA together with a birth certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar.
- In case there is no record in PSA, please submit a “Certificate of Non-Record” from PSA together with the Marriage Certificate from the Local Civil Registrar.
7. All the relatives' Birth Certificate/ Marriage Certificate enough to prove the third degree relationship between Applicant and Inviter/Guarantor
- IT must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office/Serbilis Outlet Center (Nationwide).
- If the record is unreadable, or has incomplete inform has incomplete information, please submit Local Civil Registrar Birth Certificate

10. Applicant's Bank Certificate with ADB (Average Daily Balance) for the last 6 months
- Validity of Bank Certificate is three (3) month from the date of issue
- If the Average Daily Balance (ADB) in the last six months is not indicated, bank statement must be submitted to prove transactions within the last 6 months.
11. Applicant’s Income Tax Return clear Photocopy (latest)
- Form 2316, must have signature of the Employer and Employee
- For business owners, proof of actual payment of tax must be submitted in addition to the BIR Tax Payment Certificate Form

12. Invitation Letter from Invitor / Guarantor in Japan
(Describe relationship between Applicant and Inviter in detail )
13. Documents related to the reason for the invitation
(e.g., invitation letter showing the dates of the graduation ceremony, wedding, medical certificate, etc :
if the period of stay exceeds 30days, an explanation letter is necessary. )
14. Daily Schedule in Japan (TAIZAI YOTEIHYO )
- Enter the scheduled date of entry and departure to/from Japan (including flight information, if possible. Booking is not necessary).
- Enter the details of accommodation (as of hotel, name, address and phone number. Booking is not necessary).
- Itinerary must be entered in a daily basis. However, in case similar activities will continue for several days, put them into one column in this way “Day/Month/Year-Day/Month/Year”.
15. Residence Certificate (Juminhyo) of the inviter and the guarantor in Japan
- Jumin-hyo must describe all household members, without omission of description except Individual Number and Jumin-hyo Code.
- Juminhyo must be issued within (3) months
【Additional Requirements】
- If inviter or hi/her spouse is Japanese → Family Registration ( Koseki-tohon )
- If inviter / guarantor is not Japanese → photocopy of Residence Card ( both sides )

16. Guarantee Letter
- In case that multiple applicants have the same guarantor, write the name of the representative of the applicants and “Others names, see attached list”, then prepare list of the applicant name

17. One/ Some of the Latest Following Documents
(To show guarantor's precise capability to pay, submission of some of the following is allowed. )
- Income Certificate ( Shotoku-shomeisho )
Must be the latest one at the time of application - Tax Certificate ( Nozei-shomeisho.)
It must include description of the total amount of income - Bank Certificate
※ Withholding Slip ( Gensen-Choshuhyo ) and Final Tax Return ( kakutei-shinokusho ) are not acceptable.

18. Foreign residents with long-term or permanent status in the Philippines applying for a visa must submit, in addition to the above requirements (except birth and marriage certificates), a copy of their Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) issued by the Philippine government.
- Visa application of foreigners who are on short-term (temporary) visa in the Philippines cannot be accepted. Please apply at the Japanese Embassy /Consulate General with jurisdiction over the area in which the applicant resides or over the country of which the applicant’s passport was issued.
